Cross Country Ends Season at AAC Fall Championships

CANTON, Ga. - The St. Andrews men's and women's cross country team concluded the 2021 fall campaign on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the AAC Fall Championships held in Boiling Park.

The Knights finished just ahead of Bluefield and Point with a team total time of 2:17:23 in the women's 5000 meters (5K) race. While the men's team finished with a total time of 3:04:12 in the men's 8000 meters (8K).

Pacing the way for the Knights was Leone van Rooyan who finished the women's race with a 5k time of 23:24.9. Just behind Rooyan was Kennedy Martin and Gracen McLain (SO/Greensboro, N.C.) who finished with times of 24:27.9 and 25:54.3 respectively.

Rounding out the women's team were Asiah Dewberry who ran a 31:15.6 and Marlen Bravo 32:21.1. Each one of the runners ran personal best times.

On the men's side, Jared Gesford paced himself with a 6:26.1 one-mile split time and a 31:59.3 total time. Alvaro Redondo and Victor Kum finished 75 and 79 respectively with times of 35:42.3 and 37:55.1.

Brennan Proffitt (39:03.4) finished just ahead of Alessandro Filippo who finished with a time of 39:32.1.
