Champion! Seima Nishihara wins first place as the Men's Team Places Second at the Scotch Invite
A Champion has been crowned! Congratulations to freshmen men's golfer Seima Nishihara (Tokyo, Japan) for finishing first place at the Scotch Invitational at the Scotch Meadows Country Club in Laurinburg, NC. Nishihara finished with his two day streak going exactly par for the course by shooting a 74 (+2) on Monday and a 70 (-2) this afternoon. For his efforts Nishihara finished 1st among the men's bracket which consisted of 66 players, and helped the St. Andrews men's team to finish 2nd out of the 12 teams in competition.
What a day for Knights golf as many other players for both the men's and women's side had fantastic days on the course. Behind Nishihara came Ramon Fedz-Cano Alda (Madrid, Spain) who shot a 77 on day two and finished his tournament at at a combined +6 earning him T-5th at the competition. Staying right with Alda the whole way was Remo Scholl (Hessen, Germany) who shot a 78 on the final day and ended with a +6 combined score from days one and two to tie with his teammate Alda, among others for a T-5th finish.
Ezequiel Ruiz (Escobar, Argentina) was up next for the Knights as he finished his two day run with a score of +10 after posting one of the lowest scores of the day at 74. Ruiz' performance earned him a T-16th placing at the tourney.
Rounding out the top five for the Knights was Joe Hamilton (Sparta, KY) who shot a decent 84 on the day, but his spectacular first day on the links allowed him to finish at T-20th and posted a final score of +12 over the two days of competition.

On the women's side. there were only two players in action who played some excellent golf over the two day span at the Scotch Invitational. Leading the way for St. Andrews was Michaelah Wise (Lugoff, SC) who ended the second day with an 86 score +12, and finished in the 15th position out of the 32 women golfers in competition.
Not too far behind was Erica Boyd (Charlotte, NC) who finished the day at +14 which was good enough to place in the T-21st position after a great first day on the links.
