Men's Golf Oldfield Classic Recap
Okatie, S.C. – St. Andrews Men's Golf finished 11th at the Oldfield Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina Beaufort.
Round 1
Ramon Fernandez-Cano (SO/Madrid, Spain) led the Knights in round one, shooting an 85 (par 72). The Knights top four was rounded out by Matthew Song (SO/Waxhaw, NC) shooting an 88, Ty Queen (JR/Lavalette, WV) finishing with a 91 and Milan Minto (FR/Greenville, NC) shooting a 94. The Knights ended round one in 11th.
Round 2
Ezequiel Ruiz (SO/Escobar, Argentina) competed in the second round for the Knights and led St. Andrews with an 82. One-stroke behind Ruiz was Fernandez-Cano shooting an 83. Song finished with an 88 and Minto shot a 90. The Knights ended day two at the Oldfield Classic in 12th place.
Round 3
St. Andrews made up ground in round three after Ruiz and Fernandez-Cano both shot an 81. Milan Minto improved an impressive 11 strokes from his round one to round three score, shooting an 83.
Song rounded out the top four with an 87. The Knights scored a total of 1033 across all three rounds putting them back in 11th.
Ramon Fernandez-Cano led St. Andrews in the individual rankings, tied for 46th with a 249.
Next Up
St. Andrews will compete in a conference competition next at Callaway Gardens (G.A.) hosted by Point. The event will begin on Monday (March 8).
