St. Andrews Golf Participates in Bojangles TN Intercollegiate
Vonore, T.N. – St. Andrews men's golf finished 8th out of 9 teams in the Bojangles TN Intercollegiate this weekend. Yusuke Niwa (SR/Nagoya, Japan) led the way for the Knights. Niwa finished with a 228 score and tied for 16th place as an individual.
Round 1
St. Andrews ended day one in sixth place, shooting 313 as a team. The Knights 313 team score was the best round they played during the weekend trip. St. Andrews remained 27 strokes behind the lead.
The Knights were led by Matthew Song (SO/Waxhaw, NC) who shot a 74 in round one and Yusuke Niwa who shot a 75 in the first round.
Round 2
The Knights didn't have the same success in the second round of the Bojangles Intercollegiate. St. Andrews shot a team total of 337. Niwa continued to lead the Knights with a 79 in round two.
Round 3
St. Andrews made up a little more ground in round three. The Knights shot a 316 as a team in the final round and had three golfers finish in the 70s.
Niwa led St. Andrews in the third round with a 74. Matthew Song and Ramon Fernandez-Cano (SO/Madrid, Spain) shot a 77 in round three.
The Knights collective total of 966 placed them in eighth place for the event.
