The Knights are coming into the 2021 season after posting a 3-3 overall and 2-3 conference record last season. St. Andrews ranked fourth in NAIA in rushing offense per game (254.800) and in first down per game (25). During the shortened 2020-21 season the Knights rushed for 1529 yards, passed for 1197 yards, rushed for 18 touchdowns, and added 12 passing touchdowns.

Defensively the Knights finished the season with 449 tackles, 43 pass deflections, 12 interceptions, and five forced fumbles.

A slew of returns come back for St. Andrews, including wide receiver Kashard Cohens (SR/Norfolk, Va.), safety Andrew Austin (SR/Taylor, S.C.), and quarterback Andrew Fowler (SR/Hillsdale, Mich.). The Senior trio of Cohens, Austin, and Fowler have all been named captains for the 2021 season. Junior linebacker Monte Williams (JR/Raleigh, N.C.) also was named a captain defensively.

Last season Cohens finished with 32 receptions and 573 yards in six games. Against Bluefield (Va.), Cohens exploded for 102 yards and a touchdown. Cohens also recorded two three-touchdown games against Kentucky Christian and Point.

At quarterback, Fowler started five games and finished last season with 605 total passing yards, 173 rushing yards, and 11 touchdowns. Fowler threw three touchdowns in back-to-back games against Bluefield and Kentucky Christian. His season-high came in the second meeting of the season against Bluefield when he finished with 205 total yards and three touchdowns.

A defensive leader in the backfield Austin returns for the Knights after posting 49 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. During his career, Austin has played in 34 games and has a combined total of 267 tackles, 13 pass breakups, and seven interceptions. Austin was recently invited to participate at the 2022 Podyum All-Star Bowl.

In three seasons, Williams has made 166 tackles, three sacks, and an interception at linebacker for the Knights. His physical play and his leadership on and off the field is a reason why he has been named a captain.
